Role:
Under general supervision and guidance, this position is directly responsible for developing and delivering the new employee and ongoing training curriculum for employees in the Teller, Member Services Representative (MSR), Branch Specialist, Assistant Branch Manager, and Branch Manager positions. Serves as the credit union 'go-to' person for questions from staff related to Branch Operations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Conduct training for all new frontline employees including Tellers, MSRs, Branch Specialists, Assistant Branch Managers, and Branch Managers.
- Confer with Branch Managers and Branch Operations Managers to determine ongoing training needs and schedule training sessions appropriately.
- Design training programs to effectively train all employees on branch operations, cross-selling, products and services, etc.
- Train new frontline employees on products, software, job functions, policies and procedures, credit union standards, member service and communications for effective and accurate processing of member account transactions.
- Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
- Support and mentor new employees initially and ongoing as needed.
- Keep attendance and other records during training sessions.
- Manage training budgets within guidelines specified by Training Manager.
- Conduct evaluations upon the completion of each training session to identify strengths and/or areas of needed improvement.
- Proactively review training material and make updates as needed.
- Contact attendees and department representatives about upcoming training programs.
- Develop strong relationship with all Credit Union departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.
- Update Digital Service Channels including the Education and Training Page and KBase.
- Assess individual employee needs to determine if additional one on one training is needed.
- Provide feedback and offer suggestions on "How To" and send "Reminder" emails.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
3 years of experience in a financial institution and in customer service and training experience with groups and individuals.
Education
2-year college degree in Business Administration, Education, Communication, or a related field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.

- Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment including 10-key, telephone, slide, film, overhead projector, and other related training aids.
- Must have a knowledge of Pelican's products/services, lending processes, and rules/regulations which govern the Credit Union.
- Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must.
- Must possess the ability to engage in professional and productive conversation with others.
- Must be comfortable presenting in a group or individual setting.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to Pelican Branches and locations throughout Louisiana as needed for training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements such as typing.
- Ability to understand the speech or written communication of another person.
- Ability to speak or communicate in writing clearly so others can understand.
- Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away such as computer monitors.
- Ability to travel within the state of Louisiana
Work Environment
Work will be performed in an indoor office setting and/or classroom.
