Don't Burn Out: How to Build Grit and Resilience in our Work Teams. To grow a successful career in any industry, you need a healthy dose of grit—that special combination of passion, persistence, and resilience that powers personal and professional success. In this month's meeting, we will discover the difference of grit can have in the workplace and learn how can we build and embrace grit in our work team as well as within ourselves.

Speaker: Dr. Beverly Brooks Thompson

Beverly is a strong, motivational and inspirational leader with a talent for change management, organizational design, economic development, strategic planning, contract negotiation, recruitment and volunteer management. She has over 25 years of leadership and service in the public sector promoting economic and workforce development, quality education attainment and healthcare. She has in the past served in executive leadership roles in two of our community’s flagship institutions: LSU and Woman’s Hospital. She is currently the Managing Director of Carter Global, an international fundraising advising and philanthropic management consulting firm.  You might also recognize her name from her recent inspiring run for Senate.
